HOUSTON, TX – November 8, 2011
The FAB-8 (Flow-Cal Advisory Board) and Flow-Cal, Inc. hosted record breaking attendance at this year’s 12th annual User Group event. The 3 day gathering was held in Galveston, Texas where over 40 companies participated in a series of round table discussions and informative classes. Attendees included gas and liquid measurement leaders representing each industry sector; Production, Midstream, Transmission, and Distribution (LDC).
The FAB-8 consists of eight respected industry leaders, each representing a critical link within the energy value chain. Flow-Cal's products were founded on, and are driven by, the needs of the hydrocarbon measurement industry. The FAB-8 represents Flow-Cal's customers by providing application guidance and helping the Flow-Cal product managers set priorities. The directors are elected by their peers and charged with gathering and sharing their group's needs and best practices. FAB-8's role is to prioritize these needs in a way that satisfies all sectors of the industry.
The President of the FAB-8, Johnnie Jarred, Manager of Measurement, Oneok, Inc. states,"This year’s Users Group conference was a huge success. The record breaking attendance reaffirms Flow-Cal’s position as an industry leader. The continued growth of the company and increased user involvement is extremely exciting."
Board member re-elections were held during the User Group conference for directors completing their initial terms of service. Joe Sargent, Manager of Measurement for SourceGas, LLC was re-elected to serve as the Distribution (LDC) Director and Todd Gatewood, Manager – Gas Measurement for Chesapeake Operating, Inc. was re-elected to serve as the Production Director.
With the FAB-8’s inception over a year ago, the participation from the Flow-Cal user community has steadily increased. During the 3 day event, the user community led classes discussing business processes and case studies, identifying opportunities on how to more effectively use the FLOWCAL software suite as a solution. The roundtable sessions, led by the FAB-8 directors, provided a platform for the users to exchange ideas and discuss their needs relating to the future direction of the FLOWCAL software applications.
The annual Flow-Cal Users Group provides a forum for sharing practical information that will help companies streamline operations and create efficiencies throughout their organization. With the unparalleled growth of the company, the 2012 conference is expected to again host record breaking attendance. The 13th annual Users Group conference will be held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, based on the intense focus surrounding the Northeast Shale activities.
